PD Ports submitted it’s Planning Application to
develop a £300m deep sea container terminal at
Teesport to Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council on
Wednesday, 26th April 2006.

Planning Statement, Consultation documentation and proposed
Travel Plan may be viewed here.
Following extensive negotiations with all statutory consultees and interested parties, PD Ports submitted a Supplementary Report to the Development Control Department of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council on Monday, 5th March 2007. The documentation sought to clarify some of the issues raised relating to the original Environmental Statement and may be viewed here
PD Ports’ application to build the Northern Gateway Container Terminal development went before Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s planning committee on 27th April 2007 and received unanimous approval.
On 21 February 2008, Shipping Minister, Jim Fitzpatrick, formally approved the HRO and TWA Order applications for the new deep sea container terminal at Teesport. This now provides PD Ports the full “Go Ahead” to deliver this exciting Project at Teesport.
