Existing Brownfield site.
Terminal:
Container Terminal covering a total area of approx. 50ha.
New intermodal rail terminal.
Modifications to the Teesport Estate roads to provide vehicular access to the new terminal.
Entrance & existing gateways to the terminal.
Offices, workshops & ancillary buildings as required.
Quay/Berth: Length 1,000m*.
Depth -16.0m CD.
Capacity:
1,500k teu.
River:
Approach channel deepened to -14.5m CD.
2nd Turning Circle dredged as project expands.
Dredged material reclaimed to land and/or sea.
Vessels: Capacity for vessels up to 9,000 teu. The River Tees is currently able to accommodate and turn vessels up to 400m length/LOA, 42.8m beam and 14.5m draft.
Jobs Creation:

Some 500 jobs directly created.
Up to 2,000 indirect jobs anticipated.
Further import centre developments could create around 3,000 jobs.
These developments at Tees Dock have potential to create up to 5,500 jobs.
